Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 4 PM

Occasional Saturdays

Job Overview:

Mercy Ridge is home to 500 Independent Living residents and 48 Assisted Living residents who bike, swim, walk, run, and are passionate about staying healthy and active. We are looking for a full time Fitness Coordinator who will keep them motivated by teaching a variety of fun fitness classes, utilizing our half mile walking path, playing water volleyball, Wii, ping pong and bocce, and helping to create stimulating programs and challenges

Responsibilities:

• Teach a variety of 30-minute classes to meet multiple fitness levels of class participants; keeping classes inviting, challenging, and well-attended on land and in water. Classes include Aerobics, Strengthening, Balance Training, and Seated Classes.
• Supervise and assist residents in the Fitness Center as they use exercise equipment.
• Conduct assessments, initial and ongoing, of residents and guide their participation in exercise programs and initiatives.
• Educate residents and employees about health & wellness.
• Maintain sanitation requirements of the Fitness Center.
• Occasional supervision of the pool (we will send you to get your lifeguard certification).

Qualifications:

• Fitness-related or aging field background with a passion for exercise. (Preferred)
• Current fitness certification from a national recognized organization such as ACE, AAFA, ACSM, NASM, etc. (Preferred)
• Have knowledge and/or training working with older adults.
• Candidate must be comfortable conducting groups of people.
• Lifeguard certified or must possess strong swimming skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to a new and innovative wellness program.

Tech Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Able to navigate through tech devices such as iPads and Bluetooth speakers.
• Adaptability with New Technologies.
