Project Safety Advisor

Forbes Bros Timberline Construction (FB Timberline) is seeking an experienced Project Safety Advisor (Full time, Permanent) to support our Sage Mill project based out of South Carolina , near August, Georgia. This is a project based role with a minimum duration of 12 months.
The Safety Advisor work closely with the project operations team to promote compliance of safety procedures and protocols and improve safety standards in the field. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and team building skills, including the ability to lead by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage/influence employees at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
- Ownership and execution of a project safety plan, including providing guidance to field employees and Foreman on the proper/safe execution of work tasks according to client and company standards.
- Assisting Workers, Supervisors, Managers and Leadership in performing hazard assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and assessing compliance to applicable legislation and internal/customer protocols
- Compiling performance metrics and reporting to project leadership
- Delivering and tracking training, assisting with onboarding and orientation
- Lead or support: Tailboard meetings, HSE training and orientations, corrective actions, and Project/HSE Business Plan initiatives
- Have a visible role in safety leadership during daily and weekly meetings
- Working with our clients to complete: Project Safety Plans, Hazard/Risk Registries, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and HSE Audits
- Provide necessary support for injured employees, including case management of injuries
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to address HSE related issues;
- Collaborating with field employees, supervisors and managers to identify and execute opportunities for continual improvement
- Working closely with Operations Management in managing aspects of HSE including incident prevention, training compliance and addressing concerns
- Reporting all incidents, client HSE concerns and regulatory involvement to the H&S Director and Operational Management
- Developing or reviewing job safety analysis and safe work procedures as required
- Actively engaging workers and supervisors by having a focused field presence to improve safety performance and address concerns.
- Lead by example, continually showing support of the client and company HSE initiatives
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years experience working as a full time HS&E pracitioner and/or Journeyman Lineman in the powerline industry, is required
- Experience working in the Utility Construction industry is an asset
- Advanced certifications in safety, such as CSP or other Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) certifications, an asset
- Clear understanding of the risks and controls associated with new transmission line construction
- Knowledge of safety management and audit tools
- Possess a current Valid Driver's License
- Able and willing to provide an acceptable driver abstract
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team building skills, including the ability to lead by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage/influence employees at all levels
- In compliance with Client and Project/Work site requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening
