Position Overview

Forbes Bros Timberline Construction (FB Timberline) is in search of a qualified Project Safety Advisor for a full-time, permanent role to oversee safety measures for our ongoing projects. This position is integral to ensuring safety compliance and enhancing safety protocols within the construction environment.

The Safety Advisor will collaborate closely with the project operations team to uphold safety standards and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Embody the core value of safety in all operational aspects
  • Develop and implement a project-specific safety plan, guiding field personnel on safe work practices
  • Assist management in conducting hazard assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations
  • Compile and analyze safety performance metrics for project leadership
  • Facilitate training sessions and support employee onboarding
  • Lead safety meetings and training initiatives
  • Engage with clients to prepare safety documentation and conduct audits
  • Support injured employees through case management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve health and safety issues
  • Work with operations management to enhance safety training and compliance
  • Report incidents and safety concerns to management
  • Review and develop job safety analyses and safe work procedures
  • Actively engage with staff to promote safety awareness and performance improvement
  • Exhibit leadership in promoting safety initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles or as a Journeyman Lineman in the powerline sector
  • Experience in the Utility Construction industry is advantageous
  • Advanced safety certifications (e.g., CSP or BCSP) are preferred
  • Strong understanding of risks associated with transmission line construction
  • Familiarity with safety management and auditing tools
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Compliance with client and project requirements may necessitate pre-access screening
