Position Overview:
Nationwide IT Services seeks candidates to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Communications Specialist/Writer will produce materials for internal and external audiences to support the agency’s safety mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write and edit a range of communications, including newsletter articles, email messages, talking points, technical summaries, executive communications, and more.
- Interview content experts and summarize them into informative and engaging technical articles.
- Generate story leads and reach out to employees to craft inspirational profile articles for a weekly employee newsletter.
- Establish working relationships with key stakeholders and provide excellent client support.
- Adhere to FAA branding guidelines and overarching messaging; follow AP Style; gracefully accept and incorporate edits; and meet all deadlines.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to changing needs, a positive attitude, careful judgment, and generosity as a cooperative team player.
- Self-motivation is key, as is dedication to accuracy and a diplomatic approach to shepherding projects through to completion.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information and admirably represent the capabilities and professionalism of the NIS team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- College degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience and demonstrated excellence in technical or professional writing.
- GovDelivery email experience is a plus.
- Experience using Teams and Microsoft Suite.
- Experience working as part of a fully remote team.
- Public trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
