Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing and directing production activities within the manufacturing facility. Coordinates the production of goods, ensures machines are repaired and running smoothly, and manages workers on the production line. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions assuring that production is being done in a safe and efficient manner providing the highest quality product to our customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • In charge of production staff, and ensuring the management of production and quality targets and the smooth running of the production processes.
  • Responsible for monitoring through a shift that KPIs are met.
  • Trains and supervises production employees on job procedures, safety, and GMPs.
  • Responsible for the quality and product produced within the shift in line with the companies’ quality systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, SQF, FDA quality system rules, and regulations, including planning, training, and implementation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting quality and food safety-related issues.
  • Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians, and other staff.
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
  • Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings to review safety performance.
  • Interacts with maintenance on production equipment preventative maintenance to cut down and prevent production downtime/waste.
  • Updates upper management on production needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document production reports at the end of each shift verifying that all employees complete their paperwork accurately during the day.
  • Evaluate and improve production procedures.
  • Discipline of workforce

  • Follow GMP's, Quality & Food Safety Programs as noted in the SQF Code and the company's Food Safety and Quality Manual.

Requirements:
  • Excellent reading and writing skills
  • 1 year of previous production experience
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a must
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, motivational, and good customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • The high energy level and detail orientation required
  • Ability to work extended hours or different shifts, as required, or through the evening in off hours.
  • Above average knowledge of Safety and Labor Laws
  • Computer proficient
  • Work as a Team, Be Safe & Lead by example.
  • Positive Attitude
  • Ability to work extended hours or different shifts as required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate, bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Physical and Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Walk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floors
  • Twisting, turning, kneeling, stooping, and bending most of the day
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to spices (allergens) including but not limited to soy and wheat
  • Exposure to high noise levels and high heat environment PPE
  • Slip-resistant shoes, hair and beard net, safety glasses, and ear plugs are required in the work areas, gloves are recommended.

Schedule: 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
