Job Summary — The Production and Warehouse Manager is responsible for the receiving all materials, managing and developing the production and warehouse teams as well as oversee production scheduling to ensure the production duties are carried out in a timely manner.

The Production and Warehouse Manager is responsible and accountable for:
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, productive, and timely work environment for both self, team member(s), and customers.
  • Provide leadership, management, and accountability to direct reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service by having a professional and positive attitude in all interactions with external and internal customers and assist with pickup and loading as needed.
  • Coordinate with CIH sales teams, project managers and other departments as required to ensure accurate receipt, issue resolution, and on time delivery / production of all CIH Indianapolis products.
  • Oversee the metal and wood shop production schedule and partner with the Shop Supervisor to improve output and overall efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain a quality control program for the production team.
  • Develop and execute savings programs through efficiency improvements.
  • Control shop and stock inventory while maintaining inventory accuracy as related to purchase orders.
  • Lead year-end inventory and quarterly counting efforts in coordination with the Warehouse team.
  • Surface training needs for yourself and your teams to improve overall performance, culture and engagement.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of staffing and recommend changes as needed to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure work instructions are clear and necessary tools, materials and equipment are maintained and allocated to ensure efficient and productive work of these departments.
  • Perform customer / stock returns.

  • Participate in any and all applicable training opportunities for safety and this position.
  • Excellent communication to customers, vendors, and internal team members as required.
  • Utilize Opening Suite and applicable computer resources to complete essential business functions.
  • Utilize dashboards to remotely monitor various locations, and proactively review and analyze information not conspicuous.
  • Manage time and attendance for assigned direct reports.
  • Conducts year-end performance reviews with all shop and warehouse personnel and provides merit increase recommendations to the Operations Manager.
  • Lead department morning huddles, scorecard updates, and long-term improvement projects for all locations.
  • Travel to satellite offices as required or requested.
Experience & Other Requirements
  • 4+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Able to sit for long periods at a desk in an office environment.
  • Experience in process improvement projects preferred.
  • Experience with Opening Suite and Door Hardware Industry Preferred.
