WHAT YOU WOULD DO
STRATEGIC PURCHASING | PROCESS DEVELOPMENT | TEAM MANAGEMENT

 

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including scheduling, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials.
  • Providing guidance and support to Warehouse & Shop team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Identifying process bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implementing solutions for improvement.
  • Improve efficiency via timely material and equipment deliveries, innovations and economical, purchasing, storage, equipment, and tool maintenance-repair, and tracking strategies. 
  • Communication with Warehouse & Shop Team, Project Management, Safety, and Field Teams to ensure that needs are being met and appropriate processes are in place.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive purchasing strategy aligned with organization goals and objectives.
  • Leading purchasing process for all tools, equipment, and materials bought to support MKS warehouse and field operations teams, including job-specific, commodity, and rental items.
  • Developing and managing departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and warehouse operations.
  • Analyzing rent vs own for all owned and frequently rented equipment and make recommendations with relevant information to Leadership Team for purchase or rental of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Performing all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, negotiation of supplier agreements, preparation of contracts, and tender management.
  • Implementing cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or efficiency.
  • Support Warehouse Team in maintaining inventory tracking of tools, equipment, and materials via MKS's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, ensuring accuracy of inventory levels in database.
  • Track and submit coded tickets/receipts for all purchases.
  • Approve all invoices related to yard purchases, ensuring proper cost code and GL code, through TimberScan.

 

  • Research and develop Fleet program with 3rd parties for equipment and vehicle purchasing, lease, rent, etc.
  • Inventory Management - Strategize, monitor, and audit warehouse inventory.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education | Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field preferred
  • Work Experience:
    • 5 years experience in the construction industry
    • 5 years in management
    • Experience in purchasing and warehouse management
  • Demonstrated Abilities in:
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of construction tools and materials.
    • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
    • Familiarity with relevant software and technologies for inventory and procurement management (ToolWatch software knowledge is preferred, but not required)
    • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, and Excel
