Position Title: Senior Engineering TechnologistDate: April 2023

Reports To: Manager, Assembly Engineering FLSA Classification: Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Engineering Technologist assists with development and documentation of manufacturing and testing techniques, materials, tools and processes related to semiconductor assembly and testing. Performs analyses and selects techniques to solve problems and enhance product yield and process flows.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

•Provide technical engineering support for establishing high yielding, cost effective processes based on product need and customer requirements.

•Maintain knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.

•Assist with development and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization utilizing appropriate statistical analysis software, such as JUMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or equivalent.

•Participate in establishment of processes based on product specifications.

•Participate in evaluation and validation of process and design alternatives based on product manufacturability.

•Understand principles of cost of goods sold and development of process improvements to increase cost effectiveness of manufacturing.

•Understand knowledge of intellectual property issues relative to processes being developed.

•Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May serve as member on cross-functional project teams.
  • Understands work environment issues (i.e. OSHA regulations, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Associate’s degree in engineering discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in semiconductor production.
  • Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001 and EIA/JEDEC and standards
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision in concert with engineering.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
    • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office® software suite
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • No supervisory responsibility, but provides informal guidance to new team members, as well as training others across multiple shifts.
