As a Lending Assistant with Texas Republic Bank, you will be responsible for:

  • Contact customers via phone or e-mail regarding NSF items, loan payments or outstanding exception items.
  • Review loan packages after approval and coordinate special documents to cover unusual loan terms.
  • Submit internal requests for appraisal and appraisal reviews and notify Lending Officer(s) of any loan-to-value exceptions.
  • Order environmental reports as directed.
  • Ensure all consumer real estate loans are in compliance from application to closing.
  • Perform pre-closing functions, including pulling flood certifications and checking OFAC for borrowers and guarantors.
  • Prepare and/or order early and closing disclosures for consumer real estate loans.
  • Prepare and/or order loan documents as directed.
  • Coordinate with title companies to obtain clear title, a loan closing date and assurance that the lien is properly recorded and insured.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to ensure property is properly insured prior to funding.
  • Review loan documents ensuring that all loan documents are complete, accurate and in compliance with the loan approval.
  • Deliver the loan documents to title company for execution or contact customer for closing at the bank.
  • Organize and track multiple loan documentation files from approval through the loan closing process before handing the package off to loan operations for funding.
  • Examine the executed loan packages to ensure their accuracy and completeness, verify that the closing instructions have been followed and verify the adherence and compliance with all bank policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide a positive experience to everyone who crosses into our bank, whether it be in person, by telephone or by correspondence. Provide banking like it oughta be
  • Monitor and clear, as directed, file exceptions for financial information, insurance, title insurance, missing collateral, and other required information.
  • Respond timely to customer information requests or inquiries involving their relationship with the bank.

We are seeking a highly skilled Lending Assistant to Performs administrative and coordination functions for our Lending Officers and serves as one of the first contacts for all new and existing customers. Normal and customary duties associated with Lending Assistant position for Texas Republic Bank; including duties associated with assisting Texas Republic Mortgage President on consumer mortgage lending.


Highly qualified candidates MUST:

  • Be able to perform a variety of duties at once, often changing from one task to another.
  • Perform job duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Complete heavy workload within established time frames.
  • Adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Make appropriate job decisions following standard banking policies and procedures.
  • Be organized and able to maintain processes and procedures with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Possess High school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred; or five (5) years related commercial banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have working knowledge of various banking, lending, and mortgage systems.

Physical presence in the bank is required for this position. Hours for this position may vary but will generally fall within our operating hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required as job duties demand or staff scheduling necessitates. Locations include Frisco, Melissa, Pilot Point and Richardson. Some travel between branches may be required.

All candidates must complete both a behavioral and a cognitive assessment. You will automatically be directed to the assessment upon submitting your resume. Once you have completed the behavioral assessment, you will receive an emailed link to complete the cognitive portion. For both assessments, please make sure you are able to focus, without interruption. The cognitive is a timed assessment and will require about 15 minutes to complete.
