POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees the program development management, and quality service delivery for AKIN Program/Family Center. Programs may be but not limited to: EBP Evidence Based Practice; Whole Person Care Collaborative; MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team)/CAC (Child Advocacy Center Team), Incredible Years, and AKIN Parents for Parents Program. Represents AKIN and participates in meetings with AKIN employee and community partners. Develops and maintains relationships with outside community partners. Provides guidance and leadership and coaching to employee members who work in the Program/Center. May participate in grant writing and fundraising events. May recruit participants for program. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and implements goals & objectives of Akin Program in coordination with Akin’s strategic plan
  • Ensures that all records and statistics are appropriately maintained and reported to ensure compliance with governmental grant regulations
  • Provides for quality assurance in the program or center-directed services documentation for compliance with grant regulations
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation for compliance with grant regulations
  • Develops program planning and implementation with other community programs and/or external teams to facilitate integrated services and access for families
  • May work closely with community organizations and/or schools to ensure a coordinated child/family support program to assist the project’s targeted population
  • May develop, coordinate and market parenting/family activities with employee
  • May oversees the day-to-day operational requirements of the program or a family center and/or its satellite support facilities
  • May recruit participants
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of family support principles and practice, early childhood development and family development
  • Knowledge of peer mentoring programs and best practice strategies
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to receive feedback and make necessary corrections
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, accounts, and files
  • Demonstrated successful community organizing or ethnic community outreach experience
  • Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain strong and positive work relationships in complex work environments

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This job is performed in a professional office environment. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:

WORKING REMOTELY:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of community/educational outreach experience. Or, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential required after hire
  • Direct service experience with children and families of targeted population
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and be capable of obtaining jail clearance
  • Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives clients. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
  • Must have reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in education, social work or related field
  • Have an understanding of the model mentoring or peer mentoring program
  • Non-profit or government experience

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $24.01-$33.11. The starting salary range for this position is $24.01-$26.29 DOE for external candidates.

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, three Employee Appreciation Day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees). Employees will also enjoy 15 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. We also offer EAP and mental health benefits.
