General Description:

An experienced Low Voltage Technician must possess the knowledge and skill set to start and finish a project with minimal guidance. Low Voltage Technicians must be experienced in planning, installing, maintaining and repairing low voltage systems. This role requires a deep understanding of technical specifications, the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently and the capacity to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair low voltage systems including but not limited to security systems, fire alarms, telecommunications, network cabling and audio-visual systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to ensure accurate installation and functionality of systems.
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance and repairs, including parts used and time spent on tasks.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, contractors and client to ensure seamless integration and operation of low voltage systems, including but limited to the following activities:
    • Install ladder rack and cable/basket tray;
    • Comm room build out;
    • Bonding and grounding;
    • Pull and terminate various copper and fiber optic cables;
    • Terminate various fiber optic connectors (fusion splicer and Unicam) and copper jacks; and
    • Fluke tester testing.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to operate standard power and various hand tools.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices to provide top-notch services.
  • Provide excellent customer services, addressing client concerns and questions with professionalism and expertise.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certificate in low voltage systems preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar role.
  • Minimum three (3) years structured cabling experience required.
  • CCTV/AACS experience preferred.
  • Certified in BICSI, OSHA 10, CPR and First Aid is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems and their components.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to low voltage installations and repairs.
  • Federal government contracting or employment experience is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be either a citizen of the U.S. or a non-U.S. citizen who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence as evidenced by a Permanent Resident Card (USCIS I-551).
  • Ability to successfully pass and remain in compliance with required background checks from Tribal 1 and any required federal government background checks.
  • Must pass drug screen and remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces and outdoor settings.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for precise installation and repairs.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily works on-site at various locations including governmental, commercial and industrial settings.
  • May involve travel to different job sites and occasional overnight stays.
  • Full-time position with the possibility of overtime and on-call hours.
