About the Job:

The Chief of Staff reports to the CEO and provides extensive professional assistance and recommendations on Company issues and initiatives. The Chief of Staff performs highly responsible administrative work covering a broad range of activities and initiatives as set forth by the CEO.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advises the CEO on a variety of company issues and assists in developing policy.
  • Works directly and on behalf of the CEO and advises the CEO on various issues and discussions with staff regarding policy and action items.
  • Works directly with staff on developing initiatives and updating the CEO as to the progress of those initiatives.
  • Advises the CEO on delivery of tasks and coordinates on behalf of the CEO, the implementation of services or action items that involve several departments.
  • Assures implementation of programs developed and initiated by the CEO.
  • Cultivates sufficient knowledge to act as a subject matter expert on various federal and state policies. Writes policy reports and fact sheets and report on as necessary.
  • Attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which from time to time may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee's home.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


The Chief of Staff should have the following minimal skills:

  • Work harmoniously with and motivate staff, consultants and city staff.
  • Work effectively with consultants and staff on various initiatives.
  • Write clearly and directly.
  • Manage the demands of the CEO and other staff members.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be computer literate with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


Optimally, the Chief of Staff should have the ability and/ experience in:

  • Four-year degree is required, preferably in related field, or comparable industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in public relations, government affairs and social media platforms.
  • Working with cities, counties and other civic agencies in construction/rehabilitation projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Operate computer and office equipment.
  • Driving as required for business purposes.
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
