Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations including accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and budgeting. This role will play a critical part in driving the company's financial strategy and ensuring accurate and timely financial information. They will ensure the accuracy of financial information, compliance with accounting standards, and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The selected hire will report directly to the Vice President of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain the company's chart of accounts, accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and present financial statements to senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor the company's annual budget and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage the company's banking relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and provide support during the audit process.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the company's inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience managing accounting and finance teams.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency with Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
