About the role

 

We are looking for a Director of Engineering to help us provide the best fiber internet to our customers. You will manage our infrastructure and ensure all systems operate securely and effectively. To be successful in this role, you should be confident managing a team while, at the same time, setting goals, budgets, and timelines for various projects. We also expect you to oversee all development plans from ideation to execution.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and manage all aspects of designing and building the fiber network.
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget.
  • Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
  • Provide operational and network strategy support in interactions with state and local government matters related to Ripple Fiber’s fiber deployment.
  • Managing engineering projects end-to-end.
  • Support the application process for Federal, State and Local Municipality subsidies for broadband deployment funding.
  • Ensure we use innovative technologies that maximize our productivity and help our company grow.
  • Drive the company culture and strategies. Create strategies to achieve business goals such as increasing revenues, optimizing expenses, and developing a skilled, motivated, satisfied, and diverse workforce.
  • Lead by example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices, and building strong cross-functional relationships.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Five (5) or more years of management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field preferred.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and its practices.
  • Ability to lead and drive execution of projects.
  • Strong communication skills across all departments in the organization as well as with vendors, professional contacts, and vendors.
  • Prior industry experience in large scale fiber deployments.
