About the position: As the Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for submitting timely and accurate claims to insurance companies and sending invoices to our clients.

What you'll do:

  • Research and collects all information necessary to generate insurance claim or client invoice such as patient demographics, insurance plan data, and service data.
  • Enters billing information into the LIS system in preparation for upload to billing system.
  • Verifies patient insurance coverage with payer.
  • Submits accurate medical claims to the appropriate payer and client in a timely manner.
  • Addresses invalid and rejected claims from billing system work queues and clearinghouse.
  • Completes medical records requests.
  • Corrects any errors that have been assigned back by Billing Team Lead and/or Denial Management.
  • Root cause develops solutions and correct any insurance claims denied for eligibility reasons.
  • Submits insurance and facility claim information in provider portals
  • Trains with Billing Team Lead on payer policy changes.
  • Answers phones in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
  • Processes mail returns and acquire updated addresses.
  • Maisl correspondence
  • Other duties as assigned by managerial staff.

You should have:

  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Two years of experience with medical billing
  • Proficient with various software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word), computer systems, web-based applications, and third-party portals

Required working hours: This is a hybrid working position and candidate will need to live within an hour drive to the main Arkana office in Little Rock, AR. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
