Dual Property Sales Manager - Job Description

This job is for a sales manager for two hotels that are family owned and operated, one located in East Greenbush, NY and the other in Sturbridge, MA. You will fill a pivotal role in supporting the financial goals of both properties through supporting and learning the daily operations of the Sales and Marketing departments. As a manager of the team, you will assist in selling guestrooms and maximizing the customer experience from the inquiry stage to the check out stage. You will be working with and reporting directly to ownership. We take a great deal of pride in customer service and making sure our guests get the best experience possible.

This position will be based out of Castleton (East Greenbush), NY. Both properties are Comfort Inn & Suites –

Comfort Inn & Suites, Sturbridge MA – has 79 rooms with a bar / lounge on site. Will oversee scheduling BAR events and BAR schedule. Will be working directly with ownership. Minimal Travel to this property. Tourist / Leisure market with a lot of wedding groups / annual school groups.

Comfort Inn & Suites, East Greenbush, NY – 89 rooms with a Banquet Hall. Will be in charge of booking groups and Banquet Hall rentals/set ups/scheduling. This hotel has more corporate groups along with wedding groups. Local market knowledge is preferred. Applicant will be based out of this office.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Proficient in Excel, word, and computer skills
  • Extremely organized, able to multitask, and work in a fast paced environment and juggle betwee two properties
  • Have 3 or more years of experience working in a hotel sales management role and have knowledge of the local area;
  • Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit a proven track record of exemplary sales performance in other business fields with strong leadership abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills, and guest and employee-centric management practices.
  • Front desk knowledge required - Checks guests in and out of rooms while providing excellent customer service.
  • Utilizes efficient sales strategy for the maximization of hotel revenue.
  • Will be using Sales and Catering Software (STS Cloud based) for all tracking purposes of groups/accounts. Must also know Choice Advantage
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
  • In charge of Banquet rentals /set ups / staffing, etc. (For East Greenbush property only)
  • Sends information to guests that inquire about the property. Works with clients to book rooms and other small functions. Sends group room contracts to clients in a timely manner and follows up to ensure that they are returned to the hotel on-time.
  • In charge of rooming lists and other group related work to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Response time is 24-48 hours for all group leads, even on days not scheduled to work.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Job Type: Full-time. Salary is negotiable based on experience
