The role of the Mortgage Servicing Specialist will encompass all aspects of mortgage servicing. Managing administrative aspects of the mortgage such as processing payment files, monitoring escrow accounts, compiling monthly remittance information for investors, and answering member service questions.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for upholding and adhering to Credit Union of Georgia brand standards including following all the steps of our unique member journEASE experience and to Engage, Ask, Solve, and Excite and deliver top level member service every time.
  • Performs post-closing loan delivery and quality control duties ensuring that supporting documentation and records are accurately prepared according to credit union policies and procedures.
  • Accurately maintain mortgage servicing escrow records, input and disbursement of tax and insurance information, preparation of servicing disclosures and prompt posting of mortgage payments and payoffs.
  • Assists with mortgage payment file processing along with mortgage general ledger reconciliation.
  • Research, prepare records and reports regarding loan origination, closing, and servicing activities as needed.
  • Build and maintain successful internal and external member relationships by adhering to loan processing and servicing time constraints. Provide prompt responses and solutions to all member service needs while maintaining financial privacy requirements.
  • Each member of the team should be able to communicate efficiently and openly to achieve goals in a collaborative, positive manner. Team member will demonstrate flexibility and serve as back-up in other mortgage roles, as needed.
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of mortgage lending and servicing. In addition, maintain knowledge of Credit Union of Georgia products and services to look for cross-sell opportunities.
  • Complete additional training when assigned to stay abreast of compliance, guidelines, servicing, and market changes.
  • Comply with all Credit Union policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the SAFE Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Other duties as assigned by Mortgage Management.
Requirements:
  • Proficient technical skills
  • Experience with mortgage loan software
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts to grow and advance.
  • Maintain a professional image that represents the values of Credit Union of Georgia
  • Be an ambassador for exceptional internal and external member service.

Experience

  • Two years of similar or related experience.
  • Prior lending, underwriting, and credit experience preferred

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school is preferred.
  • Incumbents are required to maintain their registration active, and current, with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) throughout their employment.
