Parent Educator

Location: Houston, TX

Position Description:
The Parent Educator Team Lead for the Parents as Teachers program will support the management of the team to ensure that all services meet program and grant productivity expectations and guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Preferrably in human services or related field..
- One year (1) year of social services experience if Bachelors degree is in a human services or related field.
- Two (2) years of social services experience if Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field.
- Active certification in Parents as Teachers (Foundation I and II) is required for this position.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish. English required.
- Knowledge of Social Work practices
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional, confidential work environment.
- Understand and model cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and workforce.
- Ability to work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
- Ability to problem solve complex problems in family relationships.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about resources available to clients.
- Ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans utilizing a variety of agency and community resources.
- Ability to participate effectively in team staffing, supervision consultation, and case staffing with effective communication skills.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the program staff as well as other programs of DePelchin and other community resources.
- Knowledge of human behavior and the practice of crisis intervention.
- Ability to relate to professionals from a variety of different disciplines and community agencies.
- Environment: Hybrid - Home Office, Community setting
- Range of Schedule: Flexible, vary according to client needs. Evenings required and some Saturdays.
- Travel: Frequent, within Houston and surrounding counties (Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver's license required)
