Position Description:
The Parent Group Facilitator will assist in the delivery of services for clients and/or families by providing program development, scheduling, marketing, enrolling, evaluating, and provision of services for clients and referral sources in the community.  The Parent Group Facilitator will provide non-clinical family assessments, crisis intervention; family and volunteer recruitment, screening, and training; and design and implementation of services with limited resources.  Primary responsibilities include:
  1. Coordinating with schools, community-based programs, and other DePelchin programs to offer parenting programs in the community.
  2. Possibly provide phone consultation to families upon completion of a DePelchin parenting program to assure competency.
  3. Provide outreach in the community to assist with program recruitment.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation and timely data needed for program accountability for all aspects of program implementation
  5. Manage a schedule that ensures that program productivity expectations and guidelines are met.
  6. Participate in relevant local and state training and activities; participate in DePelchin committee work as assigned
  7. Contribute to relevant team and supervision meetings Counseling and Family Services, Agency, and the assigned services under this position.
  8. Providing occasional community education presentations on the Parenting Help services, parent education, child abuse topics and other related topics, as requested.
  9. Answer informational requests and inquiries about current services of Parenting Help program and of the agency.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience in-group presentation/facilitation.
  • Must be certified in required curriculums or be able to attain such certification within the first year of employment. Employment is contingent on acquisition of minimal certification/licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Social Work practices.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional, confidential work environment.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and work force.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
  • Requires high-moderate level of independent work in implementation and service provision of program services.
Work Conditions:
  • Environment: Home-based office, Community Settings
  • Range of Schedule:  Mon – Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Occasional Saturday s for planned events
  • Travel: Frequent (Must have reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License)
