The CNC Operator position is a 1st shift position working Mon-Fri 7:00 am-3:30 pm. Overtime is available.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Run parts as directed with the ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, location of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Run multiple lathes as programmed with the ability to change inserts and offsets. Use basic math to interface with the machine. Experience programming Haas machines is helpful, but not required.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning and facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Other duties as assigned by B&B Management Team.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in the verification of parts produces with the use of varied measurement gauges which would allow for modifying of-sets to meet customer engineering drawing specification.
- Knowledgeable in the use of HAAS controls.
- Knowledgeable in the use of the following tools: Boring tools, gauges, inspection fixtures, lathes milling cutters, turning machines.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry to generate the correct finished dimensions.
- Must possess skills in: monitoring performance of self or organization to make improvements or take corrective action; watching gauges, dial, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly; Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; controlling operations of equipment or systems; identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Abilities
- Good listening, problem sensitivity, quick response reaction time, arm-hand steadiness and rate control.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining and entering accurately information in B & B ERP system.
- Analyzing information, and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solving problems.
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, e-mail or in person.
- Follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B including but not restricted to wearing safety protection and equipment and enforcing adherence by others.
- Can spend significant time standing.
- The ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that can not be met.
