B&B produces and distributes custom and standard mechanical power transmission components all over the world that include products like timing pulleys, timing belts, sheaves, sprockets, and gears. We supply distributors and manufacturers with thousands of various components.

General Responsibilities

We need a person that is equally comfortable in the warehouse as they are in the boardroom to take us to the next level. The Director of Materials oversees the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages and trains supervisors and leaders in the Warehousing and Purchasing departments.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
  • Manages inventory target levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Directs purchasing department in cost and delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Develops and administers PPV metric.
  • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts, finished goods, and order fulfillment.
  • Manages transportation suppliers, agreements, costs, and charges.
  • Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Manages procedures for valuing physical inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and working in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 20 pounds and intermittently lift up to 50 lbs

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

  • BS or BA degree
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in current procurement, inventory management, and order fulfillment
  • Policy analysis, development, and deployment
  • ERP proficiency, prefer experience in E2
  • Data Mining and analysis
