The Shipyard Master (SMS/IMS) Scheduler Analyst supports the development and maintenance of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) by incorporating shipyard level projects and activities. The Scheduler assists with plans and establishes schedules to meet customer demands and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align all efforts and tasks required to execute a Major Shipbuilding Program; the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution cycle; and the local Project efforts/ tasks in Washington, DC. This position will support hybrid in office 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Shipyard Master (SMS/IMS) Scheduler Analyst is to meet all defined requirements of the customer-controlled Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) that includes key shipyard events needed for PMS 300/325 program level management and reporting.

  • Facilitate schedule-focused meetings with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage the shipyard project portfolio
  • Develop and maintain the Shipyard Master Schedules (SMS) which incorporates individual projects schedules with the necessary scope, activities, milestones, and logic that results in a valid critical path with links to all known external dependencies and ancillary projects.
  • Develop and maintain standard reporting and utilize industry accepted methodologies to identify, monitor, and analyze potential delays, conduct what-if analysis, and develop/ recommend courses of action.
  • Interact with stakeholders to track schedule status within defined update cycles and track stakeholder input for on-time compliance.
  • Track internal performance and conduct progress checks on s scheduling team to report to leadership team
  • Participate in continuous process improvement projects in standardizing and optimizing schedule program metrics by incorporating best practices
  • Support the program's risk management process related to potential delays.
  • Adhere to the PMS 300/325 defined communication plan regarding the release of schedule information outside the shipyard to include bi-annual reporting to meet the PMS 300/325) requirements and related change logs.
  • Comply with defined change management procedures related to baseline revisions and file management to include project closeout.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be proficient with MS Project, Milestone Pro and other industry scheduling tools.
  • Must be able to manage priorities and work independently with little direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • At least 7 years of experience in project scheduling, with a focus on defense, maritime, or naval projects.
  • Experience with Navy PMS projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and familiarity with DoD scheduling practices and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong candidate who has experience working directly with the Navy or other military branches.
