GENERAL OVERVIEW


Responsible for the processing and servicing of Member Business loans. This individual will work together with the Sr. Commercial Loan Officer to create & obtain necessary documentation for all new & existing Member Business Loans. Additional duties will include responsibility for annual review data collection, as well as, coordinating with outside vendors throughout the lending event. Strong organizational and member service skills, as well as, the desire to assist our Business members is key to the success of this position and the MBL department as a whole.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

For all loan types:

  • Work closely with Sr. Commercial Loan Officer to obtain outstanding information for Commercial loans, as well as, both new and existing MBLs.
  • Manage the process with commercial borrowers and FNY branch staff to open new memberships during the loan due diligence.
  • Create appropriate loan documentation accurately and follow through to completion.
  • Obtain the appropriate documents from loan applicants, create loan file and work with Sr. Commercial Loan Officer to complete loan presentation in a timely manner. Additionally, manage the digital Working Files as loans are processed and closed.
  • Follow the commercial checklist and instruction from Lending Management; review business loan application files routinely to verify that application data is both accurate, timely & complete.
  • Assist Sr. Commercial Loan Officer with communication to members, attorneys, realtors, appraisers and vendors to ensure timely scheduling. This also includes ensuring commercial borrowers receive accurate & appropriate billing statements, as required.
  • Collect good faith deposits from commercial applicants, work with Accounting to properly record the amounts and work with vendors to see they get paid.
  • Maintain a schedule for all existing MBLs for at least annual review of the loan file by the Sr. Commercial Loan Officer and pursue outstanding information to complete the annual review.
  • Maintain written procedures of work processes to meet Compliance guidelines.
  • Responsible for setting up MBL property tax information with third party vendor.
  • Responsible for following up on post-closing documentation to ensure file completion. Additionally, responsible to ensure the new MBL’s are added to the core system accurately and soon after closing.
  • Coordinate documentation for MBL audit reviews.
  • Interact with lending operations and other Credit Union personnel to ensure commercial loan servicing is managed appropriately.
  • Continually look for process improvements and make recommendations to Sr. Commercial Loan Officer, as needed.
  • Possess knowledge of Credit Union products, services and team members.
  • Review and prepare various weekly/monthly and quarterly reports
  • All other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least an Associate degree in Business Administration or similar education qualifications
  • At least 5 years of lending/loan processing experience
  • Fluent in MS Excel & Word
  • The ability to problem solve and balance multiple projects at one time
  • Superior organizational skills and a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent verbal & written skills
  • Strong member service skills

Work location: In-person


Pay Range: $16.83/hr- $28.85/hr


Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm
