YOC Therapeutic Day School Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY
The YOC Therapeutic Day School Program Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the program, including the development and implementation of the therapeutic program, coordination of educational services in collaboration with MCS teachers, and the supervision of staff. Working in tandem with Muncie Community Schools teacher to provide quality treatment services for the students is of utmost importance. Knowledge of MCS and YOC policies and procedures, legal reporting requirements, accreditation standards, and standards set forth by other governing agencies is essential.
PRIMARY JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Oversee all functional aspects of daily operations, staffing and scheduling.
- Review student applications, assess students in their home school environments, lead evaluation process to select students who could be successfully served in the program.
- Provide oversight to the behaviorist and classroom aides and provide feedback through individual supervision, performance evaluations and, if necessary, through employee discipline.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, with input from the team.
- Provide timely reports to school districts regarding progress monitoring of IEP goals and treatment plan updates each reporting period.
- Ensure that all therapeutic interventions (individual, group, and family therapy) are performed and documented according to professional standards.
- Coordinate performance improvement and complete monthly reporting.
- Actively participate in the complaint resolution process as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Maintain regular and productive communication with parents/guardians and home school staff as designated.
- Explain and promote the program to special education directors, school leaders, and community stakeholders
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience, or two years of college and two years’ experience or High School diploma and four years’ experience. Degree preferred

Must be able to demonstrate awareness of the cultural and socioeconomic differences of our clients as well as value a nurturing family as the ideal environment; a commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems and a conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change; the ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence by maintaining a helping role and appropriately intervening to meet service goals; the ability to set appropriate limits.

The YOC-MCS Therapeutic Day School Program Director will supervise the Behaviorist, Classroom Aides, and designated support staff.
WORKING CONDITIONSTypical work week is Monday-Friday 40 hours. Scheduled days and times of school operations will follow the Muncie Community Schools calendar and also incorporate a 4-week summer session. Other summer hours are flexible and will incorporate preparations for the next school year. This position will have regular contact with teachers and staff. Position will also have contact with parents/guardians and home school personnel by phone, videoconference, or in person. Courtesy and professionalism are expected at all times.
COMPENSATIONThis position is full-time, and compensation includes a competitive salary and benefits plan.
