This full-time role as a Radiation Therapist involves providing essential therapeutic services in a healthcare setting. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.
The position emphasizes flexibility and offers the chance to collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals.
As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients based on the directives of a radiation oncologist. This includes:
- Precise control of radiation dosage to targeted areas.
- Reproducing treatment fields to ensure exposure is limited to designated regions.
- Maintaining high standards of quality control, safety, treatment planning, and patient care.
- Scheduling patient appointments and providing mentorship to less experienced colleagues and students during their clinical training.
Qualifications:
- Registered RT (T) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligibility for registration required. Candidates eligible for registration must complete the exam within three months of employment.
- RT (T) license as mandated by the Indiana State Department of Health is necessary.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current BLS certification is mandatory.
- Ongoing registration and certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) are essential.
- CPR certification and an Indiana State Department of Health license as a Radiation Therapist are required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of radiation oncology technicalities, including the operation of sophisticated equipment and mathematical computations for treatment planning.
