Primary Functions:

To advance the vision and mission of Community Church by managing and maintaining the integrity of the business affairs in the areas of finance and accounting, human resources, insurance, compliance and legal issues, database management, facilities, IT, and project management.  


Duties:


Business Administration

  1. Provide leadership for daily church operations by overseeing and monitoring the church Finances and Accounting, IT, HR and all other Business Operations.
  2. Work closely with the Executive Pastor to prepare and distribute monthly financial performance reports to the Trustee Team. 
  3.   Ensure excellence and efficiency in our business operations by providing oversight and direction in the areas of insurance, legal/risk management, banking relationships, etc.
  4. Ensure all church operations are compliant with church regulations and with government requirements and regulations (City, County, State, Federal).
  5. Lead the planning and execution for building the church annual budget for all departments.
  6. Primary gatekeeper along with Executive Pastor and Trustees for all financial, asset, and HR processes and documents. 


Facilities and IT

  1. Provide strategic and operational guidance in collaboration with campus facilities staff for all regular maintenance, capital projects, asset management, and outside group/rental management.
  2. Provide strategic and operational guidance in collaboration with the IT Consultant and church staff for all IT and business system implementations, usability and maintenance.


Human Resources

  1. Oversee and manage Human Resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, policy development and implementation, and compliance.


Leadership Participation  

  1. Lead the CC Staff performance review process annually.
  2. Manage projects, provide support, as well as oversee, lead, and coach a staff team.
  3. Supervise, direct, and manage Operations, Facilities, and other teams as assigned by the Executive Pastor to determine their ministry goals, plans and budgets, ensuring resources align with Community Church’s vision. 
  4. Recruit, train, and oversee  the Crisis Response Volunteer Team for Sunday mornings.
  5. Attend Community Church staff and/or department meetings as deemed necessary.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.
  7. Meet regularly with the Executive Pastor to report strengths and weaknesses of the ministry, to be held accountable for job responsibilities, and also to better develop personal leadership. 

 

Accountability:

The Director of Operations is accountable to the Executive Pastor and will receive an initial review after 90 days and ongoing annual performance review.  Compensation is reviewed annually by the Elder Board and the Trustee Team.  


Qualifications:

  1. B.A. or B.S. in business management, accounting or related field.
  2. Experience in business management, finance and accounting, facility oversight, or related fields.
  3. Experience in supervising staff.
  4. Experience in financial and database programs 
  5. Strong knowledge and experience of Excel and Quickbooks
  6. Good analytical skills.
  7. Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong written and program management skills.
  8. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  9. Forward and creative thinking to keep systems and processes current and effective.
  10. Familiar with insurance needs, banking, taxes, and governmental and legal requirements related to non-profit organizations.

  9. Ability to set and reach goals and objectives, and organize ministries to reach objectives.
  10. Possess an excellent work ethic and passion to do the best you can with the resources you have.
  11. Whenever possible, willingly collaborate with other staff and ministry teams as opportunities or needs arise.  
  12. Champion unity in the church on every occasion, zero tolerance for gossip or the misuse of words, and a thorough commitment to conflict resolution as detailed in Matthew 18.

Salary range of $63,500+ Depending on Experience
