JOB DESCRIPTION:  Education Services Manager  

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:  Full Time/40hr week- Non-exempt 

REPORTS TO:  Program Director  

SALARY RANGE: $25-30/hr DOE, plus additional health benefits 

 

SUMMARY: 

The Education Services Manager will oversee implementation of a wide range of services related to navigating the Education system, provided to parents and youth. The Education Services Manager will ensure effective delivery and alignment with program outcomes and agency mission. This role requires strong project management skills and knowledge of special education and family support services. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

  • Assume responsibility for overall coordination and development of Education program services and activities as outlined in funded projects through the Federal and State Departments of Education.  
  • Work with Program Director to ensure timely provision and follow-up services to parents.  
  • Provide oversight of prompt provision and follow up of referrals for parents/families to appropriate agencies and services. 
  • Participate in the coordination of the logistics for annual Parent & Youth Conferences 
  • Work with marketing team to ensure that e-Resource Library, website, and social media contains relevant resources, and useful special education topics.  
  • Work with direct service staff to coordinate offerings of Special Education Workshops, both onsite/virtually and in collaboration with local school-based family resource centers and community partners. 
  • Collaborate with other managers to develop agency annual calendar of learning opportunities and services.  
  • Collaborate with Napa County SELPA and other content experts to coordinate ongoing staff development on Education and Special Education best practices.  
  • Assist in the creation of monthly e-newsletter to inform families about available programs, services, and options for children with disabilities. 
  • Participate in and engage in local, state, and national public policy activities as assigned; including attending Community Advisory Committee meetings and other school sponsored parent advisory events.  
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy of data collection and timely reporting of program activities.  
  • Participate on interagency teams and present or represent ParentsCAN to other community groups, public and private, to broaden public awareness. 
  • Keep abreast of current laws, policies, and developments in the field of disabilities. 
  • Keep training materials up to date and relevant to current issues impacting families.  
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related human services field.  Relevant experience is considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management. 
  • Experience working with families and children with special needs is highly desirable. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred 
  • Lived experience with special needs/disabilities, preferred  
  • Skills: 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to establish rapport and communicate with people of diverse cultural, educational and mental and physical ability. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and virtual platforms.  
  • Personal Attributes: 
  • Empathetic and patient. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Working Conditions: 

  • The role may require occasional evening or weekend work.
