Job Description: Highway Sign and Signal Foundation Foreman

Overview:

The Highway Sign and Signal Foundation Foreman is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of highway signs and signal foundations. This role involves working with various construction tools and machinery to ensure that highway signs and signals are securely and properly installed according to specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the installation of highway sign and signal foundations, including setting posts, digging holes, pouring concrete, and ensuring proper alignment.

· Must be able to read foundation designs as well as structural steel drawings.

· Must be able to operate Altec Digger Derrick drill truck, Elliott boom truck with auger, excavators (various sizes) and bucket trucks as needed

· Able to excavate either a drill shaft, grade beam or spread footer type foundation, must be able to tie rebar to drawing dimensions, install rebar and plan required embeds.

· Possess the ability to form a variety of foundations/ structures as needed, place concrete and finish.

· Responsible for setting up concrete deliveries through dispatcher as necessary.

· Able to erect steel on foundations and hang mast arms and sign structures as needed.

· Supervises the job site in accordance with Curtis Contracting policies, procedures, and values.

· Perform routine maintenance and repair of existing highway signs and signal foundations.

· Operate and maintain construction equipment such as jackhammers, drills, concrete mixers, and other hand and power tools.

· Excavate and prepare sites for foundation installation, including removing debris and leveling ground.

· Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Ensure work zones are properly marked and secured to protect the safety of workers and the traveling public.

· Schedule and location are subject to change, travel and overnight work may be required.

· Leadership to field level employees to include communicating performance expectations, disciplinary action and the guidance needed.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.

· Ability to operate construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

· Basic understanding of construction principles and practices.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Drug Test/Screening, Reference Checks, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and construction leadership experience.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds).

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
