Key Responsibilities
- Traffic Planning and Analysis:
- Perform comprehensive traffic impact assessments, flow evaluations, and capacity studies to analyze current and future transportation frameworks.
- Employ industry-standard software to model traffic behaviors and simulate various scenarios.
- Create detailed traffic management strategies for both temporary and permanent applications.
- Roadway Design and Optimization:
- Design and refine roadway configurations, including intersections, signals, signage, and pavement markings.
- Ensure adherence to relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Integrate innovative and sustainable transportation methodologies into the design framework.
- Traffic Signal Systems:
- Design, assess, and enhance traffic signal systems to boost intersection efficiency and alleviate congestion.
- Conduct signal timing evaluations and implement coordination strategies.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in traffic signal technology and apply them effectively.
- Traffic Safety:
- Identify potential traffic safety challenges and devise strategies to mitigate risks.
- Analyze accident data and develop effective measures to enhance safety.
- Conduct road safety evaluations and recommend enhancements based on findings.
- Project Management:
- Oversee multiple traffic engineering projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion within budgetary limits.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to establish project objectives and scope.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, technical drawings, and specifications to convey project requirements.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or a related discipline.
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Possession of a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) license.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as VISSIM, Synchro, HCS, or similar.
