At GATR Truck Center, we believe in quality. From the trucks, truck parts and service we provide, to the people we employ. We are a Volvo, Mack, Hino, Kalmar, Hyundai Translead dealer with five locations throughout Minnesota and Iowa to service our customers. We are looking for a Service Manager to join our GATR of Cedar Rapids, IA team.

Primary duties will consist of but not be limited to:

  • Maintain an atmosphere where the customer experience is positive.
  • Follow GATR standards for treatment of customers.
  • Maintain a customer relations program (GATR's eight step customer process) that assures prompt repairs and high quality.
  • Also provide a customer record and follow-up system, resolve customer complaints and build loyal clientele for GATR.
  • Visit with past, current and future customers on a consistent and monthly basis to discuss any issues and request additional business.
  • Meet with all service employee's quarterly, review how they are performing and set expectations, goals and compensation adjustments for the next quarter.
  • Use quality control procedures designed to monitor quality of work and take corrective action where standards are not met.
  • Provide assistance, information, and direction to employees to correct technical concerns, improve efficiency, and improve warranty recovery.
  • Design and implement a marketing plan for increasing service sales/profit and establish short and long term goals.
  • Manage operational expenses so target profit is earned monthly.
  • Maintain our OEMs' (Volvo, Mack & Hino) training program ensure compliance with their standards.
  • Incorporate company policies for recruiting, hiring and orientation.
  • Maintain technical resources bulletins and special tools in ways that are convenient to employees needing them.
  • Respond to customer inquiries on status of repairs and see that trucks are returned promptly to customers.
  • Schedule personnel to maximize shop efficiencies.
  • Use warranty claim processing procedures that permits prompt settlement, simplified tracking/control and recognizes the interest of the customers and company.
  • Develop business relationships with factory field personnel and corporate personnel that result in obtaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with other areas to reduce conflict and maximize company profitability. Prepare for and participate in meetings with management.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all employees at GATR.
  • Maintain facilities in an attractive, appropriate and safe manner.
  • Follow all employment, safety, and environmental regulations as required by GATR or any city, county, state or federal governing body.
  • Maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition.
  • Establish equipment maintenance schedules as needed.
