Your Role

As a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a critical role in managing the workflow, communication, and documentation associated with coach maintenance and service. You will act as the "air traffic controller" for the shop, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by prioritizing repairs, coordinating with off-site vendors, and working closely with techs and service managers. This role is essential in ensuring our reputation for quality and dependability by coordinating all aspects of service and repairs to meet our high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and combine quality control arrival inspections with post-trip reports to create work orders for every coach on the departure list.
  • Prioritize repairs based on workload and the time each coach remains at Encore before departure.
  • Create and assign work orders as issues are identified during coach inspections.
  • Coordinate off-site repairs with designated manufacturers and other repair shops.
  • Work closely with technicians and service managers to ensure smooth workflow and address all issues.
  • Review work orders to ensure completion before service manager approval.
  • Handle non-emergency breakdown calls and facilitate timely repairs.
  • Ensure coaches are up-to-date on preventative maintenance and recalls, coordinating with vendors as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in a similar role.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift to ensure smooth operations during later hours.

Nice to Have

  • Specific experience with coaches, buses, or similar heavy equipment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Fleetio or similar fleet maintenance management software to effectively document and track issues.
