The Project Security Coordinator will provide technical guidance to project managers in conducting the necessary planning, coordination, and implementation of security requirements for all AOC construction projects as outlined in the USCP Construction Security Standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Project Security Coordinator shall meet with AOC project managers to provide recommendations and guidance on how to maintain the required security requirements on AOC Agency-wide projects.
  • Participate in construction project meetings with project teams and various stakeholders to address potential and active security related issues.
  • Documents and tracks security related incidents/violations.
  • Conducts follow-ups with project managers to ensure identified security violations are resolved.
  • The Project Security Coordinator will provide written and oral guidance to project managers and project teams on equipment delivery procedures for construction projects.
  • Provide written and oral guidance to program managers and project teams on the development of construction compounds according to the USCP Construction Standards.
  • The Project Security Coordinator shall conduct project security inspections by surveying construction sites to ensure the correct security requirements are implemented and maintained, which may include by are not limited to:
  • Construction compound perimeter is properly secured with no gaps.
  • Delivery doors are secured with USCP's required high security locks and hasps.
  • Compound security equipment is properly mounted and functional.
  • The Project Security Coordinator shall document and track security related incidents/violations discovered during inspections. The Project Security Coordinator will conduct follow-ups with project managers and project teams to ensure identified security violations are resolved.
  • Advise AOC project managers when the need for USCP officer support for project tasks is required and assist in the coordination to obtain USCP officer support which will require contacting USCP Construction Security Section personnel to initiate the process.
  • Attend meetings with project teams who require AOC/USCP Overtime cost estimates. The Project Security Coordinator will collaborate with project teams to acquire needed information to submit USCP OT cost estimates as outlined in the AOC/USCP Overtime Reimbursement MOU.
  • Review and update AOC policies and procedures related to project security to ensure the agency continues to follow the security industry's best practices.
  • Provide meeting minutes after attending a meeting independently.
  • The Project Security Coordinator shall provide construction security inspection reports within 48 hours after inspection completion.
  • Follow all safety policies and when required wear the necessary personal protective equipment (reflective vest, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Must be knowledgeable with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in construction security standards and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability in reviewing, editing, and creating construction security standards and/or procedures.
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in an effective manner with minimal direction.
  • The Project Security Coordinator must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and make repetitive motions.
  • Subject to internal and external working environments which may include extreme cold or heat for long periods of time.

Minimum/General Experience:

  • The Project Security Coordinator must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract
  • Minimum of five (5), preferably eight (8), years of experience in law enforcement or security.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma
