Job Title: Derivatives Structurer

Job Summary: As a Derivatives Structurer, you will be responsible for designing and structuring complex derivative products tailored to meet the risk management and investment needs of clients. This role requires strong quantitative skills, financial engineering expertise, and the ability to collaborate with sales teams, traders, and clients to develop innovative solutions. You will play a crucial role in analyzing market dynamics, assessing client requirements, and creating customized derivatives that align with regulatory standards and market conditions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Product Design and Development:

    • Design and structure derivative products, including options, swaps, futures, and structured products, to address specific client objectives and risk profiles.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, pricing analysis, and scenario testing to evaluate the viability and performance of derivative structures.

  2. Quantitative Analysis and Modeling:

    • Develop quantitative models and analytics to assess market risk, pricing dynamics, and valuation methodologies for derivative instruments.
    • Utilize mathematical techniques, stochastic calculus, and numerical methods to enhance pricing accuracy and risk management capabilities.

  3. Client Engagement and Advisory:

    • Collaborate with sales teams and relationship managers to understand client needs, assess risk exposures, and propose suitable derivative solutions.
    • Provide expert advice and recommendations on derivative strategies, hedging solutions, and market trends to institutional clients and corporate entities.

  4. Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Evaluate and manage risk associated with derivative transactions, including counterparty risk, market risk, and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to internal risk management policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in derivative structuring and trading activities.

  5. Documentation and Legal Review:

    • Draft and review legal documentation, including ISDA agreements, master confirmations, and product disclosures, in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of contractual terms, conditions, and legal obligations related to derivative transactions.

  6. Market Research and Innovation:

    • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments impacting derivative markets.
    • Innovate and propose new derivative products or enhancements to existing structures based on market insights and client feedback.

Skills Required:

  • Financial Engineering: Expertise in financial mathematics, quantitative modeling, and derivative pricing methodologies.
  • Derivatives Knowledge: In-depth understanding of derivative instruments, market conventions, and trading strategies across asset classes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities to perform risk analysis, scenario testing, and valuation of complex derivatives.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex financial concepts and present derivative solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify client needs, develop innovative solutions, and resolve challenges related to derivative structuring and risk management.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, trading, legal, and compliance professionals.

Education and Experience:

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Finance, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field is typically required.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) may be beneficial.
  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in derivative structuring, financial engineering, or a related role within a financial institution or investment bank.
