Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure efficient communication to management and departments of changes and additions to existing and pending laws and regulations. Maintain tracking of proposed and pending laws and regulations in the Compliance software.
  • Work closely with AVP – Compliance to develop and update operational procedures, policies, documents, and disclosures in accordance with changes to applicable laws and regulations as necessary and provide to management for approval.
  • Coordinate and work with the AVP – Compliance to conduct regular Compliance Committee meetings with management to ensure applicable compliance information is shared with departments.
  • Work closely with AVP – Compliance to develop and review compliance policies and suggest changes to management that will facilitate the Credit Union’s compliance program and reduce its’ risk of noncompliance.
  • Maintain the annual review schedule of policies and procedures for the Legal Department including notifying the responsible party when due and ensuring revised policies are uploaded to the intranet.
  • Develop, coordinate and provide compliance training for all staff including MLOs. Collect, review and provide evidence of this training for applicable audits.
  • Review all advertisements and promotions and work closely with the Marketing Department and AVP – Compliance to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations including fair lending and UDAAP.
  • Assist the Internal Audit Department with third party compliance reviews and NCUA exams as needed.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and training seminars/webinars as they relate to credit union regulations, legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with any investigations concerning members and/or employees as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of Federal Regulations and laws, including but not limited to BSA.
  • Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties to assist the Legal Department as assigned.


Requirements:


A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is desirable; a minimum of four years in a financial institution is required. Background in a compliance-related field is desired. The individual must possess strong, professional written and verbal communication skills. The individual must have the ability to work independently, be detailed oriented, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to compliance issues. The individual must be dedicated to the Credit Union philosophy and have an exceptional work ethic. The individual must also possess a strong sense of confidentiality and the highest level of integrity and objectivity to preserve independence.

Candidate must be available Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
