Responsibilities and Duties:

The Loan Audit Specialist primary responsibility is to perform ongoing reviews of the Credit Union’s loan portfolio to ensure adherence to loan policy and procedures, compliance with federal lending regulations, NCUA Rules and Regulations, and completeness of loan documentation to provide management with an ongoing assessment of the credit quality and compliance of the loan portfolio. In addition to the loan reviews, the Loan Audit Specialist will perform reviews of all membership accounts including various credit union share products as well as denied loan requests. They will also perform ongoing reviews of loan applications to ensure compliance with Fair Lending laws.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Perform ongoing Quality Control Reviews of all consumer and member business secured, unsecured, credit card, real estate, commercial and denied loan requests.
    2. Perform ongoing Quality Control Reviews of all membership account types including new account openings, denied account openings, address changes, share certificates, and IRAs.
    3. Perform ongoing Fair Lending Reviews, using the Fair Lending software, of loan applications for consumer, credit card, and real estate loans for any concerns related to discrimination.
    4. Perform reviews of real estate files prior to foreclosure actions as requested from Loss Control to ensure all necessary documentation is accurate.
    5. Prepare memos and reports to provide to management.
    6. Compile and maintain tracking reports for Quality Control and Fair Lending reviews.
    7. Assist in periodic and annual Compliance and Fair Lending training.
    8. Assist the Quality Control Analyst, SVP – Legal, and Chief Legal Counsel as needed.
    9. Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
    10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A two-year degree from an accredited college or university is desired (or comparable experience and education), and a minimum of two years financial institution experience, preferably in the lending function, is required. The individual must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and be self-motivated along with a strong attention to detail. The Quality Control Specialist must have a working knowledge of Founders FCU Loan Policy, along with lending related regulations, laws, and guidelines as well as membership policies and agreements. In this position, the individual must have a high level of integrity, a commitment to confidentiality of Credit Union data, and a strong work ethic. Proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word. Etc.) is required.


Candidate must be available Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
