Riveon Mental Health and Recovery (Formerly The LCADA Way and Nord Center) is currently recruiting for a Mental Health Counselor to work with our Adult customers in our Lorain facilities.


Summary:

The Mental Health Counselor is responsible for routine duties of a Counselor/Therapist, including, but not limited to screening, assessment, treatment planning, individual counseling, education, referral, and documentation.


Hybrid / telehealth may be an option but would not be available until after successful completion of the probationary period.


Essential Functions:

Assessment and treatment planning including assessment of client's strengths and weaknesses, developing treatment plans to prioritize and address identified problems, examining alternative solutions and developing plans of action. This position must be able to work with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. Provides clinical services including individual counseling, family counseling, consultation, referral and information, intervention, training, crisis intervention, case management and adjunctive behavioral health services as needed for coverage purposes.

Oversight of each case assigned to caseload. Orienting the client to the program, clinical reviews and clinical staffing, discharge planning and completion of daily progress notes. Engaging the family of each client in the family treatment program. Delivery of program components as assigned. Contact with referral sources for clients assigned to caseload. Completion of all CQI data collection and implementation of all CQI corrective actions as assigned. Monthly participation in the Utilization Review and Peer Review programs. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

General Requirements:

Must adhere to the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board Code of Ethics, demonstrate an understanding of addiction as an illness, and have three years of treatment experience. Experience with dual diagnosis treatment preferred. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively work with agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.


Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.


Certification Requirements:

LPC, LSW or MFT required. LPCC, LISW, IMFT or higher credential preferred.


Amount of Travel: Minimal, mostly confined to local travel.


Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening may be required.


Salary Range: Salary commensurate with licensure and experience.
