Job Overview

Position Summary:

The IOP Substance Abuse Counselor plays a crucial role in our Men's Department, focusing on providing comprehensive support for individuals battling addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments and screenings to evaluate client needs.
  • Developing tailored treatment plans that address individual challenges and goals.
  • Facilitating individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
  • Providing intensive outpatient services and community referrals.
  • Engaging clients' families in the treatment process.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and progress notes for each case.
  • Participating in clinical reviews and discharge planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

Candidates must adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and possess a deep understanding of addiction as a chronic condition. A minimum of three years of experience in treatment or recovery is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with proficiency in computer applications.

Educational Background:

An Associate Degree in Addictions Treatment and Prevention or a related field is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Certification:

CDCA certification is mandatory, while higher credentials such as LCDCII, LPC, or LSW are advantageous.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with a schedule that includes several evening shifts. Local travel may be necessary.

Compensation:

Salary will be determined based on licensure and relevant experience.
