About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the procurement processes for Baily Foods International. Based out of Granite City, this role will oversee the Purchasing function for three plants: Granite City, National City, and Waycross, GA. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring a reliable supply of quality ingredients and materials to meet the company’s production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Purchasing Strategies:

    • Design and implement effective purchasing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.

Supplier Management:

    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.

Cost Management:

    • Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
    • Develop and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.

Quality Assurance:

    • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all purchased products meet the company's quality standards.
    • Address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or supplier performance promptly.

Inventory Management:

    • Collaborate with the Inventory and Production teams to manage inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials.
    • Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize waste and reduce costs.


Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the food industry.
    • Experience in purchasing meat preferred.
