Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Patient Intake and Scheduling:
    • Greet patients warmly and professionally, both in person and over the phone.
    • Efficiently schedule appointments according to physician availability, patient needs, and insurance requirements.
    • Gather accurate patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring data integrity within our electronic health record (EHR) system.
    • Verify patient insurance eligibility and communicate any potential coverage issues clearly and proactively.
    • Send appointment confirmations and reminders via phone, email, or text message.
  • Patient Care and Communication:
    • Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Answer patient questions regarding appointments, billing, and insurance in a courteous and informative way.
    • Effectively triage incoming calls, directing inquiries to appropriate staff members.
    • Manage patient flow in the waiting room, minimizing wait times and addressing any concerns promptly.
    • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments according to established procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks and Support:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system.
    • Manage the front desk efficiently, including filing, faxing, and data entry.
    • Support other clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed.
    • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, fostering a professional atmosphere.
    • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced customer service or healthcare environment (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EHR software a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive and professional demeanor with a focus on exceeding patient expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Pay Scale/Ranges:


$22.00 to $28.00 per hour
