SUMMARY: Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic inspects, repairs, troubleshoots, performs maintenance and assembly of heavy equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical skills, able to understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
- Five years’ experience in repairing heavy equipment.
- Background in hydraulics and AC/DC electric.
- Welding and/or rigging experience would be a plus.
- Experience working on any of the following types of construction equipment: Friction & Hydraulic Cranes, Friction & Hydraulic Winches, Hydraulic Power Units, Electrical Diagnostics, Rigging Equipment would be beneficial.
- Requires a professional and customer service demeanor always be displayed.
- Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, being on your feet for extended amounts of time and working in inclement weather are needed.
- As the workload dictates, some overtime (including weekends) will be required.
- The selected candidate must supply own basic tools, larger tools provided.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to shop, project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
