Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in hydraulics and diesel engine repair, along with experience in a field service capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and rectify issues in heavy machinery, encompassing engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and fuel systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and avoid costly repairs.
  • Interpret technical documents, including blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts catalogs, lubrication charts, and repair manuals.
  • Provide necessary tools and parts, and coordinate facilities for repair tasks, typically at customer locations.
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment to confirm proper functionality.
  • Communicate essential information to the Service Supervisor for accurate billing and account management.
  • Enhance technical skills through ongoing training and review of technical literature.
  • Uphold the company's reputation by maintaining a tidy appearance and a clean service vehicle.
  • Assist in training and supervising new service personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Vocational training or formal education in hydraulics and diesel engine repair is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics. Relevant education may substitute for some experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
  • Successful completion of the tacker test is mandatory. Passing the AWSD14 Welding Test is recommended for future advancement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds is essential.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be DOT certifiable.
  • Willingness to travel overnight to out-of-town locations as necessary.
  • Must be eligible for insurability to operate a company vehicle (MVR and background check required).
