SUMMARY: The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting technology systems in multiple locations across the United States. The systems supported will include Microsoft Server OS with Hyper-V, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Products, Enterprise applications, advanced desktop support and many others. They will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all Cybersecurity protocols and procedures including desktop and server hardening, patching, upgrading, system backups, and vulnerability scanning and remediation. The Systems Administrator will possess project management skills for planning, scheduling, and deploying various systems projects.

This is not a remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • · Advanced deployment and troubleshooting for PC/Mac/Mobile devices (iOS and Android)
  • · Implementation and maintenance of server virtualization and virtualization platforms
  • · Configure and troubleshoot the Active Directory environment
  • · Design and setup TCP/IP networks including DNS, DHCP, VLAN, WAN, and VPN
  • · Configure and troubleshoot networking devices (Firewalls, Switches, Access Points)
  • · Implement and monitor security systems including Spam filtering, Anti-Virus/EDR, Multi-factor Authentication and Encryption
  • · Configure and troubleshoot cloud based systems (SaaS)
  • · Monitor and troubleshoot on-prem to cloud and cloud to cloud backup systems
  • · Perform ongoing performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization on all systems
  • · Execute migrations, upgrades, and other projects following industry best practices
  • · Maintain awareness of trends and changes in the Cybersecurity industry and threat landscape
  • · Develop, maintain, and document installation and configuration procedures
  • · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, technical and non-technical
  • · Strong organizational skills; ability to balance priorities
  • · Ability to build interdepartmental relationships and provide excellent customer service

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field AND at least THREE (3) years experience actively working as a Systems Administrator or related position.

Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, Microsoft and Microsoft 365

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and relate to graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people. Must have strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Primarily this is an onsite office position, but may periodically require travel to any of our campus locations.
