Description

Williams Consulting, LLC seeks a dynamic Public Health Policy Research Analyst to play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives within a federal agency aimed at eliminating health equity and enhancing quality of care through innovative public health programs. This position will focus on advancing strategies to strengthen population health, address social determinants of health, improve rural outcomes, and utilize data to inform policy decisions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive policy research and analysis related to health equity, social determinants of health, and healthcare disparities
  • Synthesize findings from data analyses, literature reviews, and stakeholder consultations to inform policy development
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to assess the impact of policies and programs on health equity and population health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to identify trends, disparities, and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations on policy research findings and recommendations
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and interventions in achieving health equity goals
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend evidence-based solutions
  • Represent at meetings and conferences to advance health equity and address social determinants of health
  • Possess a firm understanding and experience in Federal healthcare policies
  • Ability to critically analyze healthcare policies for their impact on multiple populations
  • Experience leading quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research studies
  • Ability to use quantitative data analysis software 
  • Other duties as assigned



 Requirements and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in health equity research, policy analysis, or related field, preferably within a federal agency
  • Strong understanding of health equity principles, social determinants of health, and disparities in healthcare access and outcomes
  • Knowledge of public health policies, practices, and systems
  • In-depth understanding of federal statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R)
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience in preparing technical reports, policy briefs, and presentations.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented with the ability to pivot to meet emerging needs
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project) and Adobe
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive work ethic in all situations
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities
  • Background investigation required
