About Yellow Dog Software:
Yellow Dog is a privately owned software company based in Norfolk, Virginia. We develop, sell and service our inventory management system, providing key business workflows for F&B, Retail, and Concession operations.
Our primary markets include sports, entertainment, amusement, lodging, gaming, clubs, retail, and F&B establishments. Many of our clients are nationally recognized brands, including 30% of professional sports team stadiums.
Summary:
Yellow Dog Software is looking for a service-minded individual who will provide assistance to our sales and marketing team. This work includes answering and directing incoming sales calls, responding to client inquiries, consulting with existing clients for software add-ons, generating, sharing, and explaining quotes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone without a lot of sales experience to get their foot in the door and learn.
This is an in-office position based in Norfolk, VA and reporting to the Director of Sales.
Key responsibilities and oversights include, but not limited to:
- Handling sales inquiries from existing customers
- Learning our products in order to provide intelligent needs assessments with clients
- Preparing accurate proposals and contracts – setting achievable expectations
- Soliciting clients for references
- Answering and responding to existing client sales inquiries via both phone and email
- Being helpful to our clients – consultative sales is what we do
- Providing clear, accurate communications with a positive attitude
- Being honest & trustworthy, inside and outside the company
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Consultative mindset – identify solutions that will work for the client
- Be smart, a fast learner, and a problem solver
- Be a quick-thinker with a positive, can-do attitude
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, collaborative team environment
- Efficient with Windows Operating System
Ideal candidates will have:
- Hospitality or service experience - food & beverage and/or retail
- Technical ability – comfort with a wide range of Microsoft products, Zoho CRM
- Some experience with inventory… physicals, ordering, receiving, etc.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary plus commission following an onboarding period. We expect this role to earn $50,000+ in total compensation following the onboarding period. We offer generous benefits along with an annual bonus opportunity.

Pay: $50K OTE in year 1
