POSITION OVERVIEW

NBME is in search of a proactive and strategic Business Development Manager to pinpoint and support collaborative business ventures, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The ideal candidate will be persuasive, possess excellent relationship-building skills, and demonstrate strong business acumen.

This role is predominantly remote, with minimal on-site attendance required except for quarterly change-of-pace days, mandatory for all employees. While the position is primarily remote, candidates have the flexibility to choose a remote, hybrid, or on-site work arrangement. We are open to considering candidates in the following states Delaware (DE), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Kansas (KS), Kentucky (KY), Maryland, Michigan (MI), New Jersey, North Carolina (NC), Pennsylvania, Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX), or Virginia (VA).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on collaborative ventures, partnerships, and M&A activities.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, potential partners, and investment banking advisors/firms.
  • Conduct rigorous due diligence to evaluate the financial and strategic fit of potential partners and acquisition targets.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to assess risks and benefits of proposed deals.
  • Manage the negotiation process, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and financial guidelines.
  • Oversee the negotiation process and contribute to deal negotiations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure seamless execution of partnership agreements and integration of collaborations.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of business development initiatives, offering insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay informed about market developments/trends, competitors, and regulatory changes that may impact the business development strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven track record of identifying and executing successful partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to conduct thorough due diligence.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute methodically and with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or M&A.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
