We have an immediate need for a Junior Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Engineer with field experience to support the Metro Union Station Gateway (USG) capital projects. The Junior MEP Engineer will assist with maintenance operations, including field surveys, take-offs, drawing markups, and providing field support for various capital improvement programs. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation and coordination of engineering tasks within a complex, high-rise facility environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Field Surveys & As-Builts: Conduct site surveys and develop as-built drawings. Ensure accurate documentation and integration of updates into MEP design drawings.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with General Services, Supervisors, Facilities Technicians, and Vendors to support the Operations Engineering Capital Improvement Programs.
  • Contractor Support: Provide support to outside contractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing the work performed. Maintain a daily log of all assigned construction projects.
  • Project Meetings: Regularly meet with the project manager to discuss and define work assignments and project status updates.
  • Maintenance Support: Work closely with a unionized maintenance crew for field surveys within operating facilities, ensuring that all tasks comply with client standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including attending Safety Training, Rail Safety, and Wayside Worker Protection training. Maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as necessary to support Facilities and capital projects.


WORK HOURS & REPORTING

  • Standard Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adjust to night and weekend shifts as needed, with the potential for up to 50 hours of work with five calendar days' advance notice.
  • Location: Primarily at the client’s worksite with other field visits as required.
  • On-Call: Must be available to respond to calls during off-hours when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Junior MEP field construction support engineer, with experience in high-rise facility construction support.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in implementing as-built drawings and MEP design drawings. Familiarity with Fire Protection Systems and Building or Energy Management Systems is preferred.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Safety Certification: Certificate of OSHA 10-Hr Safety Training is required.
  • Metro USG Standards: Previous experience and general knowledge of Metro USG standards are preferred.
  • Equipment: Must have a working cell phone and camera for documenting and reporting purposes.


PAY RATE

  • $37.87 - $51.82 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
