HEI Civil is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources in Castle Rock, CO. The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for directing all the people functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of the company, the ethical and social consciences of business and society, and the laws, regulations, and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities. This individual will also be responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position the company as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices, and trends within the industry.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive management team on all human resources matters.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts to ensure the acquisition of top talent.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs.
  • Implement and manage succession planning and career development programs.
  • Drive initiatives that promote employee engagement and retention.
  • Develop and oversee performance appraisal systems that drive high performance.
  • Ensure that performance management practices are applied consistently and fairly.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance management issues.
  • Develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that disciplinary procedures are carried out fairly and consistently.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee workplace safety and health programs.
  • Manage risk by addressing HR-related legal issues and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Implement organizational development initiatives to enhance company performance.
  • Lead change management efforts and ensure successful implementation of organizational changes.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support employee development and organizational growth.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.
