We are seeking a Safety Professional to join our team. The Safety Professional is primarily responsible for communicating and enforcing the company's safety program.
Qualifications -
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- 5 years' Experience in underground utility construction. Excavations & Confined Spaces.
- Experience or understanding with local, federal and jurisdiction regulations and standards a plus. (OSHA, MUTCD, ANSI, EPA)
- Current certification in First-Aid, CPR and {OSHA 30 - Construction} preferred but not required.
Responsibilities -
- Perform daily site safety inspections.
- Recognize potential hazards. Address and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Form a positive rapport.
- Promote weekly toolbox talk information to all Flippo employees.
- Maintain and promote safety curriculum and deliver training to field crews using the Safety, Wellness, and Training Van. (SWAT)
- Purchase and maintain inventory of safety supplies.
- Conduct and participate in monthly trainings / meetings.
- File routine reports and forms.
- Assist in the Safety Awards Program and associated events.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance.
- Be directly involved with the disciplinary action process and understand when policy is not followed.
- Investigate accidents or incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis and present to management team.
- Work closely with insurance companies and outside representatives.
- Review Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) in the field and inform staff of current status, revisions or comments before commencement of the work.
Requirements -
- Experience in a safety related role.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver's license and able to meet company's driving record requirements.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication.
- Must be experienced using Microsoft office apps.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a government background check.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs and walk on uneven terrain.
