REPORTS TO: VP of Development and Government Relations


CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator will help Silver Bay YMCA achieve its fundraising goals by coordinating Development programs and events. The Development Coordinator will help compile and update the donor database. The Development Coordinator will help plan and implement various fundraising and donor cultivation/stewardship events.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist Vice President for Development and Government Relations in the development of fundraising goals and work to achieve and surpass these goals
  • Establish a realistic budget for events and account for anticipated fundraising outcomes
  • Work with the marketing department to promote fundraising events using flyers, advertisements and digital marketing outreach
  • Assume full responsibility for various fundraising efforts including obtaining items for raffles and auctions and acquiring donations and sponsorships
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and developing event opportunities
  • Coordinate all aspects of fundraising events and activities
  • Provide clerical support to the Development Office as directed by the VP of Development and Government Relations.
  • Research and identify prospective new donors and proactively initiate cultivation efforts
  • Provide support for cultivating and stewarding donor relationships
  • Manage and maintain Silver Bay YMCA’s Raiser’s Edge donor database including entry and updating of all donor contact information
  • Produce gift acknowledgements and deliver to donors in timely manner
  • Produce reports and queries
  • Assist in adhering to and projecting annual budget
  • Assist in developing and implementing fundraising campaigns and appeals
  • Develop and improve Raisers Edge database management skills
  • Liaise with other departments on development projects
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • As a 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekend, evening, or night shifts and/or holidays to serve our members, guests, and program participants
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and donor database management software
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with current and potential donors and sponsors
  • Ability to work well with a team to promote Silver Bay YMCA initiatives
  • 1-3 years' experience working in fundraising or project organization
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills
  • Experience planning large-scale events and fundraisers
  • Experience working with a diverse team and promoting a positive image
  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
