The Quality Lead will oversee and manage the quality assurance and quality control processes within our cheese manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food quality assurance, specifically within the cheese industry, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Quality Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and control programs, policies, and procedures for cheese production.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections throughout the production process to identify and address any issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance technicians and staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and across the manufacturing facility.
- Product Testing and Analysis:
- Oversee and manage the testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Analyze test results, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality assurance activities, including test results, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present quality reports and performance metrics to management.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure the facility remains compliant and competitive.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related field; preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the cheese or dairy industry; preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of cheese manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
